How to Join Our Family
There are three ways of joining Midland Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- baptism
- profession of faith
- transfer of membership
If you have newly accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, instruction in the Christian faith and baptism by immersion is necessary to join any Seventh-day Adventist church. Please talk to the pastor or one of the local elders to express your wishes. The church has a baptismal tank. However, occasionally, some choose to be baptized in a lake.
If you have previously accepted Christ and have been baptized by immersion in some other Christian denomination, you may join any Seventh-day Adventist church by profession of faith. If you have been baptized previously but that baptism was not by immersion, then baptism by immersion is necessary to join the church.
For those who have been members in good standing of another Seventh-day Adventist church, a transfer of membership from that church to the Midland SDA Church can be started by contacting the church clerk. You may contact the clerk by using this handy link clerk@midlandsda.org
A note about children: Because we believe that a person should understand what their decision to follow Christ entails, we practice "believers baptism". Children who are too young to understand what they are committing to are not baptized. We do, however, dedicate babies and young children to God in a special dedication service.
Regardless of which method you use, we are eager for you to join us.
